Sundara Kandam சுந்தர காண்டம்
The Sundara Kandam ("the beautiful book") follows Hanuman as he leaps the ocean to Lanka in search of Sita. It holds some of the epic's most beloved episodes — the crossing of the sea, the search through Lanka, the meeting with Sita in the Ashoka grove and the giving of the choodamani, the confrontation in Ravana's court, the burning of Lanka, and the return with Sita's message to Rama. In the Sri Vaishnava tradition it is cherished as the book of Hanuman's flawless service (kainkaryam) and of Sita's steadfast devotion.
